Directors

Kimberly Maniscalco is a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She received her early training at the Toledo Ballet School and was a scholarship student at the San Francisco Ballet. Ms. Maniscalco was principle dancer with the Toledo Opera and Springfield  Ballet Companies and also performed with Pittsburgh Dance Alloy and the Mary Miller Dance Company. She served as Director for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School under Patricia Wilde, taught on the PBT faculty and toured as Children’s Repetetrice for Balanchine’s Nutcracker.  Ms. Maniscalco was ballet mistress for the Wilkes-Barre Ballet Theatre and taught on the dance faculty of the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts. She established the first children’s dance program, The Muhlenberg College Dance Center for Children and Teens, at Muhlenberg College while serving on the dance faculties of Cedar Crest and Muhlenberg Colleges. Ms. Maniscalco holds a degree in Integrated Arts from Cedar Crest College. She has served as LVPA’s Artitstic Director of Dance since its doors opened in 2003.

Ms. Maniscalco would like to thank the following teachers for their encouagement and for inspiring her to enter the gratifying profession of teaching dance:  Marie Vogt, Velta Cernonok, Polly Brandman, Chérie Noble, Rochelle Zide-Booth, Marjorie Mussman, Patricia Wilde, Ramon Segarra, Jennifer Donahue, Richard Cammack, Zola Dishong, Christine Busch, Anatole Vilzak, Zelda Mortimer, Larry Grenier, and German Zamuel.
